School Shooting Thoughts

Experience: So they're making Val go back to school - she said she would.  Maybe she shouldn't do it because she was questioning whether she should stay at school or just go home and "lay back in bed".  The kids were treating her terribly - making fun of her and stuff.  Everyone remembers the lunch room.  She would go in the lunch room but start remembering stuff and kids would stare at her.  She's probably mentally scarred forever because of that.  She might have PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).

Tie-In: The Sandy Hook shooting. In the novel there were numerous newspaper articles reporting about the Garvin school shooting same as the Sandy Hook shooting. They both had interviews with school officials. They both had a shooter that killed a lot of people in the school and they sadly passed away.

Book Predictions:
We think she is going leave the school, kill herself because of her talking about suicide numerous times
